Here are the top three stories in Chattanooga today:
- The Hunter Memorial Foundation is hosting an Encouragement Line. Callers can call the free hotline to receive a five-minute inspirational message. The foundation’s mission is to spread the kindness that the late Mr. Willie Charles and Mrs. Peggy Hunter showed to the Chattanooga community and to the world. Amazon shoppers can also choose the foundation as their charity of choice when checking out through the Amazon Smiles program. (Chattanooga Pulse)
- Chattanooga’s Tydus Jaleel Curtis, 26, has been arrested and charged with raping and assaulting a woman in a Chattanooga nightclub parking lot. The incident occurred at 1386 Market Street, according to the Chattanooga Police Department. Curtis is also being charged with driving under the influence. (WTVC)
- Titus Hartford is suing a Chattanooga Police Department officer after a video of his arrest went viral. Hartford is complaining that his civil rights were violated by Officer Elliot. He is asking for more than $16,000 in damages in the East Tennessee District of the U.S. District Court. (Chattanooga Times Free Press)
