Buckner, Larry N. – The Chattanoogan

Larry N. Buckner, 74, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, May 6, 2022.

 

Larry was born on Aug. 29, 1947, on Laurel Bluff Road in Cleveland, Tn. He was the son of the late Henry C. and Mae Bell Swafford Buckner. Larry was a five-time elected constable for Bradley County’s 6th District and Benton County, Ar. He was a Catnapper and Jackson Manufacturing Company driver for many years, as well as J. B. Hunt and P.A.M. Transport in Arkansas. Larry also worked security for Pinkerton’s, Securitas,  Allied Universal, and Walmart.

 

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his siblings, Stella Farmer, Ted T. Buckner, and Grady L. Buckner.

 

He leaves behind his wife of 56 plus years, Julia; three children: Sean Stephanie, and Sara; 11 grandchildren: Jonathan, Jimmy, Sinnaman, Samantha Mae, Hannah, Hailey Jo, Carlos, Kasey, Jessie, Amber, and Kathleen; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Ted Roberts; and several nieces and nephews.

 

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, May 11, at 2 p.m. in the Chattanooga National Cemetery with DJ Carlton officiating.

A private family only visitation will be held on Wednesday from 12:30-1:30 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home & Crematory, Rossville.
