The Signal Mountain Lions will offer the communities of Signal Mountain and Walden a free shred day on Nov. 5, from 9 a.m.-noon.
The service to the towns will be at the Signal Mountain Town Center. Residents can get rid of personal papers and financial records, as well as computer hard drives, as long as they are removed from the computer.
This twice annual record cleaning service can handle between 250 and 300 vehicles with up to five bags or boxes of material. Last June, 225 vehicles deposited more than 2,500 pounds of records.
The Signal Mountain Leos will work with the Lions to provide this service, which is paid for by donations to the club’s Labor Day drawing and gifts at the shred project.
