Love's Arm To Hold Jazz And Barbecue Fundraising Dinner To Support Survivors Of Human Trafficking – The Chattanoogan

Chattanooga’s long-time ministry to serve survivors of sex trafficking, prostitution and addiction, Love’s Arm, prepares for its annual fundraiser, Jazz and Barbecue. All are invited Thursday at 6 p.m. to Stratton Hall on Broad Street for an evening with Rib & Loin BBQ and Jazz by the Prakash Wright Trio. Jazz & Barbecue is the primary fundraising/community building event for Love’s Arm.

“This year will be special with items for sale from our shop carefully crafted and put together from some of our survivors,” said Mimi Nikkel, founder of Love’s Arm. “This is one of my favorite events in Chattanooga and it’s all for a great cause.”

Mimi Nikkel will be recognized at this year’s event as she moves into retirement. Executive Director of Love’s Arm Inza Hagins-Dyer said, “This year we are kicking off our campaign of ‘Keep the Fire Burning’ representing the fire Mimi had in her heat to create a ministry to serve survivors of human trafficking. Most folks don’t know, but Chattanooga is the second largest area for human trafficking in the United States.”

Tickets for this year’s event can be purchased at LovesArmOutreach.org or donations can be made at the same site.
