Chrystal Horne
Chrystal Yvonne Cross Horne, 72, of Chattanooga, passed away on Monday, December 26, 2022, peacefully at her residence.
She was a 1968 graduate of Howard High School. She received her degree in accounting from Alabama A&M. Chrystal was a member of New Sholar Avenue Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents, Leonard and Kitty Ruth Jackson and Jimmy and Inez Sanders; parents, Elijah and Geraldine Jackson Sanders; and infant grandson, Carter Elijah Cross.
Survivors include her husband of 22 years, John Willie Horne; son, Walter Elijah (Eboni) Cross of Atlanta, GA; daughters, Amelia (Amy) Moore of Chattanooga, Margaret Horne (Meka) of Greensboro, NC, and Amanda Milton of Seattle, WA; six grandchildren; brothers, Elijah (Sandra) Sanders, Jr. of Ringgold, GA, Duane (Veronica) Sanders, and Jerald (Nichelle) Sanders, both of Chattanooga; sisters Juanna Jackson and Dywana Sanders, both of Chattanooga; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Chrystal will lie in state on Wednesday, Jan. 4, at 10 a.m. at Faith United Baptist Church. Funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the church with Pastor Kenneth Ware as the eulogist.
Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
