Victoria “Vikki” Lee Mitchell Brock
Victoria “Vikki” Lee Mitchell Brock, 72, passed away on March 4, 2023, at home with family all around.
Vikki was from Oak Ridge, Tn. and moved to East Ridge, with her family when she was a senior in high school. At 17 she started working for Bell South as a long distance telephone operator. She moved to Orlando, Florida when she transferred to AT&T. Vikki retired at 47 from AT&T with 30 years of service. She then moved to Georgia to be the live in nanny to her oldest granddaughters. Vikki would also spend summers caring for her younger granddaughters in Tennessee. She was known as “Nanny” to her granddaughters and their friends.
To know her means you knew she loved babies, staying up late, sleeping in, fast food, soda, Publishers Clearing House, and shopping on JTV and HSN. Vikki was a constant presence for her daughters and granddaughters who knew their Nanny would always be home waiting on them. She would listen and provide advice, share her jewelry for all occasions, go on ride alongs with her granddaughters, and watch any show with you even if she had already seen it.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee Mitchell and Elizabeth “Betty” (Hill) Mitchell, and her brother, Michael Mitchell.
Vikki leaves behind her brother, Timothy Mitchell, twin daughters, Tina Harris (Ron) and Gina Tramel (Brian), granddaughters, Bree McGill (Trevor), Amelia Steele, Bailee Steele, Reese Tramel, and Brock Tramel, and her great-granddaughters Emery Dodd, Emersyn McGill, and Henlee McGill along with nieces, nephews, and multiple cousins in the Chattanooga and Oak Ridge. She is loved and missed by everyone who knew her.
It was her wish to be cremated and her family will hold a celebration of life at a later date this year.
