Kathleen Damron Cox, 92, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed on Saturday, January 21, 2023, from her earthly to her heavenly body to be with her Lord and Savior.
Kathleen was born April 1, 1930, in Martin, Tn., and at a young age, she moved with her family to Jasper, Tn. She was a graduate of Marion County High School in 1949, where she played basketball, was a majorette, and made lifelong friends. She lived a long and wonderful life dedicated to her faith, family, and friends.
She was a devoted and loving wife to James Edwin Cox for 64 years; mother to daughters, Patricia (Ben) Miller and Cindy (Bob) Brannan; grandmother to,Jason Lawhorn, Hunter Lawhorn, Bonnie Parker, Wes Brannan, and Jessica Miller; and great-grandmother to 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Gracie Damron; her siblings, Otis Damron, Leonard Damron, Jimmy Damron, Bertra Davis, Martha Holloway, and Imogene Jarrett.
Kathleen was a devoted lifelong member of Red Bank Baptist Church, where she enjoyed attending the Faith Class and was a First Grade Sunday school teacher for over 40 years.
She was a physical therapy assistant for many years and later retired from Olan Mills, School Division.
Her love for flowers and gardening was evident every spring as her yard and garden would come to life. Making beautiful ceramics was a love she had.
Kathleen has left a legacy that taught all of her family the importance of loving Jesus Christ and loving family; this love was evident to all who knew her, through the way she loved others.
The family would like to thank the loving and compassionate staff at Dominion Senior Living of Hixson, and Hearth Hospice.

While her family will miss her presence here, they are thankful for the day they will be reunited with Kathleen and James in Heaven.
Visitation with the family will be held on Saturday, Jan. 28, from 12-2 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Home prior to the service. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. in the chapel with Rev. Bill Harvey officiating. Kathleen will be laid to rest next to her husband James E. Cox at Hamilton Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
