Chattanooga Room In The Inn Announces Receives $50000 … – The Chattanoogan

Chattanooga Gas Foundation has awarded Chattanooga Room in the Inn a $50,000 charitable gift to support the agency’s work providing free housing and services to women and children experiencing homelessness. The donation from Chattanooga Gas Foundation will help cover the costs of building renovations to the shelter’s bedrooms and common spaces.

“We were overwhelmed with gratitude when we learned of this generous donation from Chattanooga Gas,” said Erin Creal, executive director for CRITI. “Our shelter building has been in need of updating, and this gift has allowed us to expedite the process to fully renovate ten bedrooms, as well as many of our common areas.”

The renovated spaces will be designed with trauma-informed colors and décor, which will allow for a calming environment for women and children moving into the shelter.

“The Chattanooga Gas Foundation is proud to support the Chattanooga Room in the Inn and the work they do for women and children around the Chattanooga area,” said Paul Leath, director of operations for Chattanooga Gas. “We live and work in the communities we serve and are thrilled our donation will be able to continue to help to support those on their way to a brighter future.”
