Rodney “Gene” Floied
Rodney “Gene” Floied, 91, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, at his residence.
He was born on Dec. 4, 1931, in Hohenwald, Tn., to the late Edison Omer and Esther Staggs Floied.
He was a United States Navy veteran. He last attended Tyner Church of Christ.
His wife, Shirley Ann Brown Floied, brother, Clyde Floied, and sister, Pam Lomax preceded him in death.
Left to cherish his memories are his children, Mark Floied, of Hohenwald, Cindy (Kip) Young, of Hixson, Todd (Kelly) Floied, of Cleveland; grandchildren, Kyle (Ashley) Farmer and Kory (Lauren) Farmer, Emmy (Will) Agne, Chase, Nicholas and Lilly Floied, Matthew (Catherine) Young, and Mary Ann (Blake) Longmire; great-grandchildren, Blaire and Grayson Farmer and Beau Farmer; he was also known as YaYa to Gracie, Bradley, and Taylor Longmire and Samuel and Sawyer Young; and several nieces and nephews.
Private graveside services will be held on Friday, Feb. 3, at 10:30 a.m. at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Minister John Cupp officiating.
The family will receive friends on Friday, Feb. 3, from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hearth Hospice.
