Wanda Katherine DeFord Wilmoth, 89, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, May 29, 2023.

Mrs. Wilmoth was born in Chattanooga, on April 30, 1934, to the late Gabriel Scott DeFord and Jackie Ryall DeFord.

She retired as co-owner of Wilmoth Enterprises.

Mrs. Wilmoth was an avid scuba diver and a charter diver at Tennessee Aquarium and Ambassador Emeritus. She was an accomplished saxophonist and played with the Chattanooga Community Orchestra and Metro Musicians.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold “Duck” Wilmoth.

Survivors include two daughters, Kathy Goforth (Gary) and Denise Woody (Thomas, Jr.); four grandchildren, Katherine Goforth Elverd (Curt), Jessica Woody Davis (Kris), Kristin Goforth Roberts (William), and Rebecca Lynn Woody; great-granddaughter, Sophia Rose Davis.

The family will receive friends from 4–6 p.m. on Wednesday, May 31, at Heritage Funeral Home, East Brainerd.

Graveside and interment services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 1, at Greenwood Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the staff of Life Care Center of Red Bank for their loving care.
