Reathel Smith Alexander, 78, of Trenton, Georgia, went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, June 27, 2023.
Reathel was born in Ider, Alabama on June 11, 1945 to the late Hoyt and Eula Harris. She was a beloved wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and loyal friend. She was a faithful woman who loved the Lord, her family, her church, and her community. One of her greatest joys in recent years was serving as president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Trenton American Legion.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Johnny E. Smith, Sr., siblings, Wanda Harris, Louie Harris & Mildred Harris Duncan, and step-son, Greg Alexander.
Survivors include her loving husband of 32 years, John Alexander; children, David (Kim) Smith, Mobile, AL, Johnny E. (Caroline) Smith, Jr., Lookout Mountain, and Lisa (Denny) Reyes, Trenton; sister, Janette (Roger) Wilkinson, Flat Rock, AL; step-daughter, Terry Alexander, Charlottesville, Va.; 14 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; bonus son, Pat Smith, Trenton, Ga.; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 30, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor David Smith and Pastor Stewart Wilkerson officiating. Interment will follow in Fuller Cemetery, Ider, Al.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 3-8 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m. until the service hour at Ryan Funeral Home & Crematory, Trenton, Ga.
