Lavern Crowder Griffin, 91, of Chattanooga, passed away on Thursday, April 6, 2023.
She was born in Sallis, Mississippi to the late Victor and Annie Crowder.
Lavern was a 1953 graduate of University of Mississippi for Women, a B.S. in Bacteriology.
She met her husband, Chuck, in Houston, TX and they married in 1955 and were married for 60 years.
Worked at CHI Memorial Hospital as a Blood Bank Supervisor for over 30 years.
Lavern was preceded in death by her husband, Charles H. Griffin; son-in-law, Andy E. Cox.
Survivors include her children, Linda (Rodney) Tabor, Karen Cox, Chuck (Jill) Griffin, Susan (Todd) Hodge; grandchildren, Jonathan Cox, Brennan (Justin) Stewart, Emily (Logan) Duncan, Perry (Haley) Griffin, Grant (Megan) Tabor, Will (Katherine) Hodge, Chris(Diana) Griffin, and Cooper Hodge; ten great-grandchildren.
A private graveside service will be held on Monday, April 10, at 3 p.m. with Rev. Dr. C. Mark Gooden officiating at Hamilton Memorial Gardens in Hixson.
There will be no public visitation.
