
Tony Louis “T Rock” Davis
Tony Louis “T Rock” Davis was born July 18, 1963, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, to the late Veronica Billups and Eddie Phillips. Tony departed this life on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at a nursing home facility.
He was educated in the Chattanooga Public School System. Tony retired as a DJ at the Ida Mae Lounge. He was a member of Chattanooga Boys Club. Tony loved his cars and drums. He was a faithful member of First Missionary Baptist Church of Avondale where he played the drums. He also played at New Harvest Baptist Church.
Tony was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lola and Roy Davis; his mother, Veronica Billups; father, Eddie Phillips; aunts, Martha Davis, Frances Davis, and Virginia Ball; uncle, Jonathan Davis; and several cousins.
Those left to cherish his memories are two loving sisters, Lisa (Pastor JT) Sorrells and Natasha (Ternae) Dodds; one nephew, Douglas (Victoria) Freeman of Savannah GA; two nieces, Spanyanna Freeman and Philesheon Crutcher both of Chattanooga; six great-nieces and two great-nephews; the love of his life, Christine Williams; aunts, Myrtle Watkins, Cassandra Seals, Susan Davis, and Millicent Davis; uncle, Marty Davis all of Chattanooga; a host of cousins and friends.
Public viewing will be held from 9-11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 23, followed immediately by an 11 a.m. funeral service in the chapel of the John P. Franklin Funeral Home 1101 Dodds Ave., 423 622-9995.
Interment will be held at Forest Hills Cemetery.
