Donna Hampton Albright
Donna Hampton Albright (MomMom), a resident of Hixson, Tennessee, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 4, 2023. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family.
Born in Decatur, Al., she was the daughter of the late John Blair and Marjorie Lovelace Hampton.
Donna had a master’s degree in education from Florence State University (now known as The University of North Alabama). She had a true passion for teaching and working with children. She was a substitute teacher at a few of the private schools within the Hamilton County School System. After her retirement, she enjoyed gardening, flowers, taking walks with her friends, and working at the daycare at St. Peter’s Episcopal School.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clay Dan Albright III and her daughter, Dana Parrish.
Survivors include her brothers, John Blair Hampton, Jr. (Jane Evans Hampton) and James Frank Hampton (Gail Ingram Hampton), son, Clay Dan Albright IV, grandson, Clayton Daniel Hill (Ashley Hill), and one great grandson,Cason Shawn Hill. In addition, she is survived by several nieces, nephews, and many other friends and loved ones.
According to her wishes, she will be buried in The Winston Family Cemetery in Sheffield, Al.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. CST on Saturday, Sept. 9, at Winston Family Cemetery in Sheffield, Al. Family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 7, at Hamilton Funeral Home in Hixson.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Alzheimer’s Association here.
