John Douglas "Doug" Brown

John Douglas “Doug” Brown

John Douglas Brown “Doug”, 61, passed away at home on March 11, 2023.

Doug was born in Ohio where he grew up until moving to Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Doug was a master of all skills. If you needed it done, Doug could and would do it. He can be remembered often behind the sound booth at Rhythm and Brews, showing his love for music. That love of music and sarcastic jokes ran deep and was evident to all who knew him. Doug was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He is best known for his dark humor, love of the outdoors, shredding on any instrument, and his always booming laughter. His tough external shell held the softest heart for any who were lucky enough to receive his love.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruebin and Ovalene Brown, brother, Jerry Brown, nephew, Robert Brown, and reunited with his furry best friend, Koko.

Doug is survived by his loving wife, Rebecca Brown; brother, Jack (John) Brown; children, Casey (Jeromy) Gibson, Norrisha Brown, Monica Brown, Olivia (James) Harley, and Kamyn Brown; stepchildren, Samantha (Gary) Broome, Molly Terrell, Cord Terrell; eight grandchildren, many cousins, nieces, nephews and even more friends.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date in lieu of a funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Alzheimer’s foundation in memory of Doug. For information/updates on the celebration of life email: mollyterrell0@gmail.com.
