In October, the city of Chickamauga is hosting two community-wide events in league with Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union, the top sponsor for both events.
Music at the Mansion at the historic Gordon-Lee Mansion which dates back to the 1840s, will feature pianist duo Donnie and Robbie performing their Music and Mayhem show which features live music, comedy and incorporates song requests from the audience. Additionally, Slide Bayou, a bluegrass band from Gulf Shores, Al., will open the night with their upbeat Swampgrass style. The event will feature refreshments provided by Flora de Mel, Dalton Distillery and Groovy Gourmet.
Music at the Mansion will be Saturday from 4-10 pm. at the Gordon Lee Mansion, 217 Cove Road.
Trunk or Treat, in the heart of Chickamauga’s downtown, will combine traditional Halloween festivities with a classic car show. The event will feature approximately 150 cars, each of which will be handing out Halloween candy. The Walker County Sheriff’s Office is also combining their annual car show with this event, providing even more vintage vehicles. The city will also provide a large-screen viewing of the Georgia-Florida football game, and TVFCU will be providing pre-approvals for auto loans on-site.
Trunk or Treat will be Saturday, Oct. 29, from 3-7 p.m. in Downtown Chickamauga, 122 Gordon St.
