Go See The Holocaust Exhibit At The Library – The Chattanoogan

If you’ve never seen a Naxi tattoo on the arm of a Holocaust survivor – you missed the opportunity last night. I didn’t just see a tattoo; I felt it. And it shook me.

High praise goes out to the Chattanooga Public Library Foundation and the sponsoring individuals, families, foundations and companies responsible for inviting Michael Bornstein (Auschwitz survivor) and his daughter to speak and impact lives last night. Mayor Tim Kelly gave a passionate introduction. The story that unfolded was moving, to say the least.

I cannot ascertain the motives for anti-semitism in the hearts of men but it is on the rise in this country. Darkness has fallen across Ukraine. Evil is real and good people must act and rise up and take action.

I am not one to attend university lectures but I hope to change this in 2023 by paying more attention to educational opportunities in our area.

One of Michael’s quotes last night was “No one can take your education away from you”.  What is the one thing you can do today, to put yourself in the way of an educational experience?

An answer… Put down your device, get in the car and go to the downtown public library before Tuesday to see the Holocaust exhibit. Take someone with you. Take a child. And get a library card while you’re there.
