Teresa Darlene Henderson, 65, of Athens, went to be with Jesus on June 19, 2023. Darlene was born on March 13, 1958 in Decatur to Lawton Hoyle and Myrtle Mae Bunch. She was a 40-year owner of and dog groomer at Country Pet Kennels. She loved to work in her flower and vegetable gardens, cook for her friends and family, spend time with her family and watch birds, especially hummingbirds.
She is preceded in death by her father, Lawton Bunch; her mother, Myrtle Bunch; and her sister, Connie Keen.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Garry Henderson, whom she loved very much.
She also leaves behind to cherish her memories, sisters, Wanda (Jerry) King, of Heard County, Ga., Vickie Bunch, of Decatur; brothers, Hoyle Bunch, of Decatur, and Tommy Bunch, Sr., of Decatur; brother-in-law, Jock Keen; sister-in-law, Barbara Bunch; nieces, nephews and families, Ashley (Stephen) Stansberry and children, Tommy (Emily) Bunch and child, Winter Parke Bunch and children, Blaze Bunch, Rugby Bunch (Kyla Queen), Macey Bunch; and other extended family members.
Honorary pallbearers are Blaze Bunch, Rugby Bunch, Stephen Stansberry, Doug Fisher, Rick Fisher and David Hamby. Presiding over the Funeral service is Tim Wilson.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday June 21 at 3 p.m. at Companion Funeral Home of Athens.
