Joyce Thurman Reed Hilton
Joyce Thurman Reed Hilton, 86, of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee, passed away on December 19, 2022.
She was a charter member of the Covenant Freewill Baptist Church. Joyce retired from Golden Gallon and then worked with ABC Nursery for several years and loved her time with the children there. She loved reading poetry and antiques, but her passion was being Maw Maw to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Her parents, Mack and Imogene Crowe Thurman along with four brothers, preceded her in death.
Joyce is survived by her children, Joy (Butch) Bloodworth, Scarlette (Wade) Kilgore and Charles Shane Reed; her sister, Louise (Bur) Collins; grandchildren, Scott (TanaMia) Smiddy, Zona Thrash (Jake), Kizah Kilgore and Sarah (Greg) Olds; seven great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and her dear friends, Jan and J.E. Neighbors.
Visitation is on Saturday, Jan. 7, from 4-6 p.m. at the Covenant Church, 9259 Hixson Pike, Lakesite, Tn. 37379. The memorial service will follow at 6 p.m. with Pastor Adam Clagg officiating.
Joyce was a breast cancer survivor for more than 20 years, her family is requesting memorial donations in her memory to the Susan G. Kommen Foundation at www.komen.org
