Robert Patton Kimbro, 86, passed away on February 23, 2023, following a long battle with Parkinson’s disease.
Bob was born on June 3, 1936 to the late George and Eula Kimbro.
Bob worked in the data processing (later IT) department at the city of Chattanooga for many years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
In addition to his mother and father, he was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Melissa Martin, and sister, Elizabeth Fite.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 64 years, Judy Coleman Kimbro, daughter and son-in-law Amy and Jamie Thomas, and son-in-law Chip Martin. He was Daddaw, Bobbob and Pop to granddaughters Lauren and her husband Tim Smith, Caroline and Taylor Thomas, and great grandsons Elijah and Jude. He is also survived by his brother, Rex (Evie) Kimbro and sister Evelyn Ivey, along with many nieces and nephews.
Bob was an avid golfer for most of his life, and was a long-time member at Valleybrook. After he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s, he became involved in Rock Steady boxing, and enjoyed the camaraderie and friendships that he made.
His family will hold a private service at a later date.
