Ruth Harriet Poulson Klinefelter
Ruth Harriet Poulson Klinefelter passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2023.
Ruth was born in Etna Green, In., on Feb. 23, 1935. Her parents were Donald Poulson and Olive (Kessler) Poulson. She graduated from Etna Green High School and attended Ball State University. In August of 1954 she married her high school sweetheart, Carl L. Klinefelter. They were married for 63 years. They have two daughters Christina (Rodney) Moore and Liane (Corky) Pettit. Ruth and Carl moved to Chattanooga in 1972. Not long after they purchased the franchise Wicks ‘N’ Sticks at Northgate and Eastgate Malls. They retired in 2007 after 35 years at Northgate Mall. Ruth and Carl enjoyed traveling all over the world with their many friends.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Klinefelter, her son Scott Klinefelter, her parents Don and Olive Poulson and a sister, Avis Fackler.
Ruth is survived by her two daughters, Chris and Liane; four grandchildren, Ashley (Bart) Tankersley, Brandon Moore, Lindsay (Colby) Davis, Wes (Ashley) Pettit. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren, Knox and Alexis Tankersley, AnnaClaire and Julianne Davis, and Madilyn, Brooklyn and Weston Pettit.
There will be a visitation on Wednesday, Aug. 30, from 4-8 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shriners.
