Edna Mae McCormick Knight
Edna Mae McCormick Knight, 95, of Ooltewah, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, June 23, 2023, at a local hospital after a brief illness.
Born in Henagar, Al., Mrs. Knight lived most of her life as a resident of East Ridge.
She was of the Baptist faith and attended Silverdale Baptist Church.
She enjoyed working in her yard, planting flowers, watching hummingbirds, listening to gospel music and spending time with her family.
Mrs. Knight was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Knight, Jr; her parents, Minnie Elizabeth and John Deckard McCormick; sisters, Aileen McCormick, Betty Jo McCormick; and brother, Johnny McCormick.
She is survived by her only daughter, Valerie (Stephen) Knight Fraley, Ooltewah; grandson, Jordan (Kelli) Davis, Birmingham; brother, James (Pearl) McCormick, Ft. Oglethorpe; and several nieces, nephews and extended family.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 27, at 12:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Tony Walliser officiating. Burial will follow at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Larry Johnston, Bobby Gann, Tom Jenkins, Ronald Rooks, Kent Henson, and Dean Gentry serving as pallbearers.
