Baylor’s varsity girls’ cross country team dominated their season opener and won Thursday night’s Front Runner 5 Star Stride at Heritage HS. Mae Mae Powe ran away with the meet, winning in 19:19 for the 5K.
Junior Addi Greene was second overall. Betsy Williams was 8th, Laney Fowler 9th, and Ella Rogers 10th—securing the Baylor win with 27 points. Freshman Peyton Roop won the JV race. Baylor’s boys’ cross-country squad finished a close third behind Cartersville and Dalton. Marshall McConville led the team with his 5th place finish.
Mercer Murphy, Rob Turner, Owen McKenna, and William Hubbard rounded out the top five. Cash Carlson won the JV race.
