Eldredge “Elbo” Middlebrooks
Eldridge “Elbo” Middlebrooks, 81, of Chattanooga, passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2022, at his residence.
He was born May 11, 1941, in Madison, Georgia, to the late Foster and Estell Middlebrooks, Jr. He retired from U.S. Pipe Foundry, in Chattanooga. He was a member of Olivet Baptist Church.
Eldridge was preceded in death by his brothers, Foster Middlebrooks, Jr., John Henry Middlebrooks, and Charles Middlebrooks; sisters, Annie Bell Davis and Thelma Horton. He was married to Lossie Mae Middlebrooks for 38 years prior to their divorce.
Survivors include his daughters, Angela Middlebrooks, Iris Middlebrooks, Ernestine Middlebrooks, Lynn Johnson, and Gail (Romond) Middlebrooks Pace; grandchildren, Terrence Middlebrooks, NaTasha Benning, Terryl (Stacey) Hogg and Staffon Johnson; sister; Louise Tuggle; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
He will be greatly missed, but we rejoice that he is Home with his Lord and Savior.
Eldridge will lie in state on Sunday, Nov. 20, from 12:30-5 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be on Monday, Nov. 21, at 11 a.m. in the chapel. Burial in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.
