Mildred “Penny” Morrison left this world on Thursday, July 27, 2023, at 9:30 p.m. in Everett, Washington.
Born on Sept. 29, 1944, in Providence, Rhode Island, she was the first girl born to a family of six children. Her father, Archie, was a Merchant Marine and her mother Florence, a third generation New Englander.
At the age of 16, she married Edward David Morrison, originally from Whitwell, Tn., while he was serving in the Air Force. Together they had two children and a marriage that lasted 47 years until Ed’s death in 2007. They lived in the Chicago area until retirement, when they moved to Tennessee. Upon Ed’s death, she relocated to Washington state where she lived until her death.
She is survived by her children, Margaret and David (along with their respective spouses Dietrich and Topher), three grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
