Janice Nelson
Janice Lousie Nelson, 75, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, was born December 3, 1947. She passed away August 9, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.
Janice was a loving momma, grandmother, and friend. She loved her family and friends. She was a pianist at Riverside Baptist Church for years. She worked at Ladies of Charity for the last five years. She enjoyed walking, reading, doing crossword puzzles, and luncheons with the ladies.
She is preceded in death by her dad Thomas Barnes, mom Gwendolyn Barnes, and her sister Judith Barnes.
She is survived by her daughters: Stacie Johnson, Stephanie Johnson, and Tammy Johnson; grandkids: Jordan Winchester, Jacob Winchester, and Matt Bowen; brother Tommy Neal Barnes (Janet); and her cousin Jo Ann Bowen.
The visitation will be Sunday, August 13, from 2-5 p.m. The chapel service will be Monday, Aug. 14, at 11 p.m., both will be a Riverside Baptist Church, 3335 Boydston Road, Chattanooga, Tn. 37419.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bibles in the schools.
