Tiffoni Monique Powell-Gary
Tiffoni Monique Powell-Gary, 40, of Chattanooga, passed away on Sunday, May 7, 2023, in a local hospital.
She was a 2000 graduate of Howard High School. Tiffoni graduated from Chattanooga State with a degree in Early Childhood Education. She was the owner of Gary’s Place. Tiffoni was currently in school for her Culinary Arts Degree.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Joe Louis Davis; grandmother, Mary Payne; aunts, Elizabeth Benford, Sonja Davis, and Trisha Favors; and nephew, Deountay Brown.
Survivors include her husband, Sherrod Gary, Sr.; son, Sherrod Gary, Jr.; daughters, Sierra Gary and Shyenne Gary; father, Steven Powell; mother, Tara (Zachary) Brantley; brothers, Ternae Hatten, Gerome Taylor, Timothy Owens, Terrance (Sylvia) Taylor, Tevin Jackson, Curtis Jackson, Marcus Jackson, Justin Jackson, and Richard (Kimberly) Gary; sisters, Tia Thomas, Crystal Ellison, Stephanie Ellison, Tiffany Jackson, Sherrie Foster, LaQuata Bass, and Nicole (Michael) Bryant; uncles, Terrence Payne, Daryl Powell, and Willie (Kimberly) Ware, Noel (Juanyell) Williams, and Tony (Carla) Hudson; aunts, Dometria (Demeatrius) Issac, Dana Powell, and Lisa Powell; godparents, Anthony and Carla Bentley and Kenneth Bass; godsisters, Asha Rowland and Gweniqua Jacobs; godbrothers, Marcus Sanders and Steven Farmer; godchildren, Kyanna Hitchcock, Karter Bonds, and Destiny Davis.
Tiffoni will lie in state on Sunday, May 21, at 10 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.
Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Chris Sands as the eulogist.
