Robert “Bob” Clell Thompson, Jr.

Robert “Bob” Clell Thompson, Jr., of Chattanooga, peacefully passed away on Sunday, September 25, 2022, after a long battle with progressive supranuclear palsy and cancer.

A private committal service with military honors was held on October 3, 2022, at Chattanooga National Cemetery.

The family invites you to join us in celebrating Bob’s incredible life on Saturday, Nov. 5, at First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 1505 North Moore Road, Chattanooga, TN 37411. There will be a musical prelude of worship at 12:30 p.m., followed by the Celebration of Life service at 1:00 p.m.

The musical prelude will include Bruce Clark at the Fratelli Ruffatti pipe organ; Pauline Martin, clarinet; and Jim Martin, piano.

Officiating will be Dr. David Eubanks, Knoxville, TN; Dr. Nathan Hartgrove, Chattanooga; and Rev. Bill Bond, Chattanooga. Service music will be provided by Choral Arts of Chattanooga, Darrin Hassevoort, Artistic Director, and Jason DuRoy, Collaborative Piano and Organ.

Visitation and a reception will follow in the fellowship hall.

Memorials may be given to the Dr. Robert C. and Katharine Thompson, and Robert C. Thompson, Jr. Scholarship Fund, Johnson University.
