James Robert Ventura
James Robert Ventura, 92, of Signal Mountain, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 17, 2023.
A native of Orange, New Jersey, he was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, where he served in the Korean war. His professional career began with Sinclair Oil in Montclair, NJ. In the mid 60s he was transferred to Atlanta with ARCO/BP and later began a career with McDonald’s working with franchise operations and management. He had a working relationship with the founder of McDonald’s, Ray Kroc, and held positions in Ft. Lauderdale, Tampa, and Seattle. He later became the chief operating officer of the Krystal Corporation based in Chattanooga. Jim and his wife Ann were members of St. Augustine Catholic Church on Signal Mountain.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Lorraine Harmon Ventura; and parents, Frank and Rose Scarpa Ventura.
He is survived by three sons, Michael (Linda) Ventura of St. John’s, Fl., James R. Ventura Jr., of Puyallup, Wa., and Richard J. Ventura of Largo, Fl.; brother, Frank Ventura of Toms River, NJ.; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 29, between 2-4 p.m. at the funeral home.
A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, June 30, at 11 a.m. at St. Augustine Catholic Church on Signal Mountain.
