Beulah Lee Washington, 78, of Chattanooga, transitioned from this life to heaven on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, in a health care facility.

She was born on October 17, 1944, to Clarence and Rosa Lee Washington in Anderson, South Carolina. Beulah was a member of Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church where she sang in the choir, participated in the ladies bible study, and Sunday School class. Beulah was also a part of the Baptist Training Union where she served as the secretary. She loved to worship and sing and served faithfully until she was no longer able to do so. Beulah was a resident of Dogwood Manor where she was loved by everyone. She was known to volunteer for chores, take commodities to those who were not able to get them, and even served as a security guard. Beulah also loved to attend the church services held at Dogwood Manor. She loved to read the Bible and would freely share and quote scriptures while speaking in person or through her writings. She always talked about the Lord and how good he was to her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Calvin and Lillie Mae McCullough; and brothers, Clifford Lee McCullough and Ervin Lamar McCullough.

Survivors include her brothers, Estell (Marva) Toney, Terry Lebron (Michelle) McCullough, and Roy Chester McCullough; special friend, Tim; close friend, Betty Bishop; Union Grove church family; a host of other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be on Thursday, Sept. 21, at 1 p.m. at Union Grove Baptist Church with Pastor Glenn P. Taylor giving words of comfort.
