Charles Wood
Charles Steven Wood, 67, of Chattanooga, passed away on Wednesday 3, 2023.
He attended Tyner High School. He was co-owner of Southern Restaurant on Dayton Boulevard. He lived in Chattanooga most of his life, except for a few years in Meridian, Ms., where he worked at Fairbanks scales. He was a loving son, father and friend. He was someone you could always rely on if you needed a helping hand or something fixed. He made a friend with everyone he met. He was a simple man who lived a simple life.
Charles was preceded in death by his father, Jack Wood, Jr.; nephew, Jeffrey Wood.
Survivors include his mother, Charlene Wood; wife Kym Wood; children, Lisa (Michael) Kinard, Ricky (Tasha) Wood, Spencer Davis; children’s mother, Terri Reeves; grandchildren, Wesley (Macaylah) Britt, Jacob Kinard, Shawn Kinard, Logan Britt, Noah Wood, Hannah Wood; brother, Fred (Kelly) Wood; nephews, Jack Wood; special friend, Melissa Miller.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 6, at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Stephen Deese officiating.
Interment will be private at Chattanooga Memorial Park.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 6, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Home prior to the service in the chapel.
